Natalia is a great example of someone coming into the sport with a world class foundation in a related activity (sprint finswimming) . A true athlete at the top of her form and transferring those skills into a new sport. Russia and China is full of these monofin sprinters. Maybe David Blaine is a similar example and might do the same in static. The true test will be whether he too can bring something new to the table and continues like Natalia or whether it is just a one off.

And don't forget Alexey, who's betting he will do over 212m tomorrow ?
He did 199m last year, my guess is he will do somewhere around the 205-220m mark. He's got a while to go to catch Martin & Carlos in CW but if he keeps training for a few years he will be "scary" good. Watch out Tom and Martin !

Dont forget that in CW there are 2 more amazing talent freediver: Herbert Nitsch "the flying fish", and Guillaume Néry, both way over 100m!!
But with this kind of ability and a lot of practice, than they (Alex) will be the new 100m people in CW, that is no question!
