Hi all.
I am reasonably new to free diving.
Do many of you dive the east side of Portland?
I was after abit of advice.
Many thanks

I don't dive around Portland but hope i can help with any advice you need.

I'm from Australia, but visiting the UK soon.
What's diving like there?
It all depends where in the UK you are going to dive some areas are warmer than others for instance the waters off the north coast of the UK in Scotland are cooler than the waters off the south coast in England but still not as warm as the waters around Australia and some locations are clearer and have less boating traffic than others.
Where in the UK do you intend to visit, dive and what month of the year?

I'm going to scotland, but mostly for sightseeing. Was thinking if the opportunity arises I might go for a dive. So thats around Isle of Skye area in Mid/Late March

A good choice for an unspoilt area of the UK
The waters how ever will be very cold at that time of year and there might even be snow still at least in the hills but who knows weather is very unpredictable.

You will need at least a 7mm wetsuit and even at that you may feel the cold as you are coming from a much warmer climate so your body will not be used to it and because of this you could be more so in danger of Hypothermia so personally i would not put you in the water unless you had a drysuit on but thats a choice you have to make.

Also the month you are looking go to Skye is off season so there may well be no places open to rent equiptment from, I found this place so they maybe worth contacting.

Here is a Wikipedia link which shows the average, high and low weather temperatures for Skye through every month of the year which will give you a better indication of what to be prepared for and what to expect.
