Hallo,
i am considering a Mares Jet Air 58!!!!!
If the gun is pumped up..so how many times i can i shoot?????
Does the gun hold the pressure over few days...???
How far away can i be to get a fish..????
Can i fix a reel on it.....?????
Thanks for your help.

Hey boeffner, I can answer a few of your questions. You do not need to recharge the gun between shots! You can shoot your Mares Jet many, many times before it will lose pressure. The compressed air in the barrel does not escape when firing and therefore does not depressurize. I should think you wouldn't feel the need to add air for an entire season. Yes you can attach a reel to the Jet, there are many inexpensive reels that are designed to be attached to pneumatic spearguns with cable ties. Hopefully someone with some first hand experience with the 58cm Jet can elaborate on it's effective distances for you.

Hello Jason
Nice to get your message with all the info it gives! It brings me a bit closer to buying my first pneumatic speargun :)

Thanx a lot

Christoph

Hallo Ubik,
thanks a lot for you reply.
i will see what i get here in Germany.
So you use as well a buoy for to fix the end of the line of your spear?

I have seen this with canadian hunters which were hunting in the indian ocean for big baracudas ......
They told me you need it for big fishes.
You know the Omer Tempest 50 ?
Nice to hear from you

Hallo Christoph

I dont know where to buy spearfishing equipment in de or at.
Be careful asking about spearfishing equipment in a scuba store.
They dont like us very much.. :D
I ordered at the shop i linked and everything worked fine.

I am using the reel not for buoy, but for a normal reel-setup.
If you dive a few meters and shoot a fish, and for example the fish
hides in a cave. So you dont need to drop your gun and can get up to the surface. Well, actually i didnt used it until now, but i will this summer in croatia. Here in Austria spearfishing is forbidden in lakes. :C

Grüße aus Wien

Hallo Jan,
Mares Jet Air. Harpunen Harpunen, Scubastore.com, anfugen, tauchen
Hätte gerne die 58 cm lange..was meinst du.
Kennst du eine andere zuverlässige Marke..
Grüsse vom Bodensee..nein aus dem Bodensee
( aber keine Angst hier darf ich auch nur mit der Angel Jagen)

Hi Christoph

I keep on writing in english, because this is an english forum and i want that other users can read our messages too.

No use the reel with a reel-line connected to a shooting line made of mono.
no buoy at all.i usually go spearfishing in croatia or greece during summer,
so i dont hunt for that big fish. i usually hunt at reefs. i use the reel because, if a fish
swims in a cave or swims away very fast, after i shot him, i dont have to drop the gun.
the reel gives away the reel line, so i have 25 m of line extra.
