First time looking at Freediving. Can I get a brief description of what "packing" is and what "apnea" is. Also what are people referring to when they talk about contraction?

Thanks,
Craig

Hey Craig, fellow newbie here....

Lets try to coordinate our questions so we don't have to repeat each other.

Alot of the terms are unfamilar to me, too. Until I can get some formal training, is there a website with definitions, or maybe a basic guide/coursebook?

Thanks in advance and dive safe,
Brock.

PS- going cave diving this weekend - WOOHOOO!!!!

Thanks Aubie!

I'm also ordering Terry Maas' freediving handbook.

Hopefully with that and some luck finding a good buddy I can start training.

Brock,

If you have access to a shop that does NAUI tec or IANTD classes you can order the NAUI book or the IANTD book on the subject. The MAAS book is a good start and these two books will add a bit of "depth" to your information. ;)
