Newcomer from Bristol

Hi Everyone,

My name is Luke and had my first spearfishing trip to Lulworth cove in Dorest yesterday. It was succesful trip and managed to bring home a tasty mullet for dinner! I saw another spearfisherman down there and he recommended these forums to me.

I was wandering if anyone from or near Bristol knows of some good locations to go spearfishing that don't involve hours of traveling from Bristol? Any advice would be well appreciated.

Welcome Luke - I checked Lulworth yesterday & it didn't look very good for vis, so well done finding the mullet

Thanks John, I was swimming thru the kelp on the right of the cove and there were plenty of fish in there, most of which I missed but seemed to get lucky on the mullet. But your right, the viz in the rest of the cove was pretty terrible, but seeing as Id travelled from Bristol to go there I thought i'd give it a go anyway.

Welcome from Texas! Viz over here is bad too, as well as massive fish kill from the red tide. At least you got wet!
