I'm still in shock... Sad news and terrible circumstances to his family. I wish the best for all of them in this
tragic moment.
Everytime I approach a descent line I remember one poem from Ramon Sampedro, and I wish to dedicate him, to a great and talented freediver.
Note: Most of the time, there is a great loss in poem translations. However, here it goes...
"Offshore. Out to the sea.
Inside the sea,
And in the weightlessness of the deep
Where dreams come true,
Two souls unite to fulfil a single wish.
A kiss ignites life
With a lightning and a thunder
And, in a metamorphosis
My body is not my body anymore
It is like entering to the centre of the universe.
The most childish hug
And the purest of kisses
Until seeing ourselves reduced
In one wish
Your gaze and mine, like an echo,
Repeating without words: "Deeper, deeper"
Beyond everything that is flesh and blood.
But I always awaken and I always want to be death,
To keep my lips forever entangled in your hair."

I have never met Patrick personally, I'm just exchanged some personal messages with him but that is enough for me to be really shocked ...and so empty right now. My deepest condolences to his near and dear ones

It is all surreal. First Adel, then the diver in Belgium, now Patrick. All in 1 month.
I still cant believe it. Such a kind, gentle soul and such a compassionate giving person.
Unjust.
