Well done again Mark! :king
Blue Lightning? It's that Superman suit again... rofl

Thanks all. They're surgical support stockings, Pastor, I didn't get on with the tights.

Hi Mark, amazing dives! Congratulations. Sounds like you put a few obstacles in your way, for the added cool-factor...it's impressive!

See you in Richmond in January,
Anna

After many hours of farting about I have finally managed to upload the video of Ben and Marks records in Dahab. Before all the smart arses get started I have mixed in the actual footage of the records with some stuff I filmed during the training. The reason for this is that I can't be at 15 metres, 30 metres, 50+ metres and back up as fast as a freediver. Well I could but then I would be in the pot for a spot of de fizzing. The surface video was filmed by Katerina Smirnova. The video was produced in widescreen which Youtube doesn't support so a few compromises were made converting it. It is in 2 parts so it can be viewed on Youtube. If you want to see it in DVD quality speak to Mark or Ben as they have it on disc.
Warning the files are big for Youtube so, depending on your connection speed, they may stutter a little.

The great thing for me is being able to see the video and see the mistakes I made, some without realising ( like losing half a mouthfill at 50m ). When you only have 4 days training before the attempts, it isn't quite enough ( for me ) to make performance improvements and resolve the issues that crop up. For Ben and I, these are disciplines that we don't regularly train for.

We were very lucky to have Monkey Matt as our videographer / producer. These vids are just a taste of the underwater work he does. Some of his footage of sharks / dolphins / other sea creatures are completely awe-inspiring.

Ditto, it's great seeing yourself, you can especially see things about your bouyancy that feel normal at the time. And I never knew I was doing the Robot on my free immersion dives :D

Hat's off to Matt for the video, superb effort mate!

Stop it! You'll make me blush. I have now made a modified version of the DVD for you 80's men with 4 by 3 TV's. I supposed that's pretty apt, you can go to 80 metres and your telly is from the 1980's.
Just think if you bought new telly you could go even deeper. I'd recommend starting with a 1990's widescreen that I just happen to have for sale!

Del Boy rides again. Next you'll be flogging me a one-arm bandit. Actually, I tried playing the DVD on one of our work wide-plasma hokey-cokey 2000's - everything worked except some of the lettering was disappearing past a 4:3 aspect ratio that was set...and which I was unable to change.

Back home on our wood-burning 4:3 Cathode Ray Tube, it all works quite nicley thank-you, inside a wide screen letterbox.

Plasma screens, LCD's, monofins....who needs em?

Bloody hell! Better late than never - onlyjust found this thread and was in the UK when all the ecitement was happening in the Blue Hole!

Well done guys and great vid! Looks like it was a lot of fun! Go Brits (and Aussies!)

Big hugs

Sara
