Just got news from Will's mother that today he did it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Massive respect. Words come short to explain how amazing this is.
Freediving history has been written and now its official

I saw that on his facebook
William Trubridge
FAIT ACCOMPLI!!! It was one of the hardest dives I've done, in less than perfect conditions, but the hectometer has officially fallen. 100 meters, no fins, in 4'10". We will have the full story, photos and video all out soon...

!!! Congrats william

A thousand congratulations !!!

I'm so happy for you. If you recall in 2008 I asked you when did you think you would reach 100m. You seemed doubtful that it was even possible at the time. Hopefully now you believe!

Top job Mr Trubridge
I’m but a mere spearo but I can see the huge achievement that your dive represents to the pure freedive brigade.
Very Well Done Sir.

OMG OMG OMG you did it! So much respect for you! I'm bouncing around in my chair at the office and my (non-freediver!) coworkers think I am bonkers.

Well done!

Shaking off the need for perfect conditions is something many can learn from. You've shown that in this brilliant example. I think this tough one is therefore more beautiful and representative of a heroic struggle to a satisfying, uplifting success that symbolises your growth.

Love, Courage and water,

Kars

Absolutely amazing, just brilliant Will, congratulations!

I was waiting for this record already last weekend. :D Congrats Will, you finally nailed it!! Next 2 hectometers CWT? ;)

I think most people with an interest in freediving were extremely impressed when Martin Stepanek improved the world record in CNF with 14 meters doing 80m in 2005. How should we feel now? The numbers speak for themselves:

2010-12-13 100 m William Trubridge NZL Bahamas
2010-04-26 95 m William*Trubridge*NZL Bahamas
2010-04-19 92 m William*Trubridge*NZL Bahamas

The most remarkable fact to be considered is that the second deepest dive of all time is 86m by William Winram. So Trubridge now has a 14m lead on the rest of the world.
