Great article. I have never had the chance to meet Tony;I heard he is a great guy though. I have seen some of his catches only in pictures. Great article. Keep up the good posts..

I concur, he is the real deal as far as spearfishing is concerned and a helluva guy to boot. Before I even got to know him he gave me tons of advice, help me set up my gear, and even gave me a bunch of GPS coordinates. The only thing is that he sure loves pnuematics (especially some beat up old electical-taped pneumatic he has - it has been awhile since I've seen him maybe he gave it up, but I doubt it).

No, he still predominantly uses pneumatics. Although, I believe he will still use bands from time to time. You're lucky, you got GPS coordinates. He told a friend of mine that he has coordinates that he won't even tell "God".

Must be some good ones!

"On a recent hunting trip off Miami Beach, the pair worked together to extract a 20-pound grouper from its cave in more than 40 feet of water after a half-hour struggle."Quote from the article.
WOW, that sounds pretty impressive. 40 feet of water. Just comes to show you that journalists are clueless. I am sure Tony is a great diver but I would not call this his "crowning achievement".
