I'm interested in Nitrox certification and would like to know if there is someone in the So. Cal area that teaches the course without having to do the openwater dives? I've been told that the classroom portion is approx. 3 hrs.. I don't like cold water diving ( last 5 yrs have been diving only warm water) so I really don't want to dive 45-60 degree water. Can anyone help? Thanks, Jerry

It depends on which agency you certify through.

If you do the SDI or TDI courses there are no dives involved. If you do the PADI or IANTD courses you have to do the dives to qualify.
