Oh dear...Did you at least see anything?
I must say, it's not that fishy this year (for me anyway) - spoke to a couple of fishermen who both agreed, they said that even the mackeral aren't really showing this year.
That's the worst thing:
Sunday I saw two bass that were far too fleeting for me to get a shot at and a big mullet that swam behind me , and so couldn't get a shot at.
Monday I saw 5 mullet, two from the surface, got a shot at one but missed, one more just a bit out of range. Another that went screaming passed me whilst I was swimming along the sandy bottom and one that came at me turned side on and I completely missed. I also saw a couple of garfish, but they were a little too far away and brief to get a shot at I'm not sure if it's me being a bit rusty, but the gun seemed very slow, so I've ordered some new bands (the current ones have been on for 3 seasons). I did bag a 2.5kg monster spider, so not a complete waste. Very enjoyable dives though and I would've stayed in all day, but for the Mrs sitting on the beach waiting, she was a bit miffed at my 3 hours in yesterday evening. Nice to at least see some fish.
I managed to snap the strap on my D4, but this turned out to be a blessing as I couldn't watch the bottom times, I just went on instinct, watching the videos back I was getting dive times consistently between 1-1.5 minutes.
I was in Aberdaron Sat/Sun/Mon, we could've hooked up? You;re right about that slimey green weed, it's a great colour, but just gets stuck to everything.
I'll be back very soon, but if I don't bag anything on my next dive I WILL be selling my kit and taking up golf!!!
