Ha ha Pob! Good first go. It takes a bit of practice but not too much! Weight is important as is chilling out. The aim is to swim without making any noise. Go nice and slow and have a really good look about.... Dont be afraid to hole up and hide for a bit. Also, a good place to look is where sand, weed and rocks combine. Fish like that sort of cover inho. At aberdaron, go look at the big rocks, the ones the size of cars.... Oh and sometimes the shallows can perform too.

Oh and re the viz, sometimes it can be a metre or two, the min i would go for is two or three and it can be really good like that... But sometimes its like the caribbean and 20m isnt unheard of. Fish can see you a long way off then though!!

Had a lovely time away with DafyddRees, I'll put a little report up later but just in case people are thinking of heading down to the Llyn - don't bother, the viz is not good - things were just about fishable on the Thursday and Friday but with the strong winds and big spring tides, we didn't even bother getting in on either Saturday or Sunday. The North coast especially is not fishable at all - I'd leave it a week or more.

I'm with you Bro, I think on Saturday I looked at every beach on Anglesey and found no vis, Sunday I thought I'd found some vis on the north of the Llyn but it was a trick, I jumped in for 20 minutes tops and got straight back out, went home and had a pint instead.
As Bro alluded to, the vis was appalling! Prior to my new camera mount breaking, I managed 9 dives before heading in to shore - this was the extent of our search for fish before the visibility really deteriorated.
The enhanced footage does not give a true representation of what the visibility was actually like, I only saw 2 bass in reality! The good thing about editing is that it brings out a lot of things which I could not see during the moment.

That's bad luck chaps. I nipped over today . Went to a spot on the north and didn't even get in , dirty brown . Tried On the south but tide was ebbing and I didn't see any fish . Vis was a just fishable 1-2m and I felt quite confident. I do like fishing in low viz but no joy. There was however a biblical lightning storm when I was in . It was unbelievable to see the lightning flashes underwater in a couple of metres waiting at the bottom . But typically the go pro was mounted to my other gun on the float as I had switched to the 45 . So no footage unfortunately.

I ordered a 7mm open cell suit a couple of weeks ago, it arrived today & it's nylon lined! I've spoke to the company and they are offering a partial refund for me to take the suit. It fits a treat but i'm concerned it wont be as warm as open cell interior as Im skinny & get cold easily! your opinions would be appreciated? My diving to date has been done in north wales, with a donated open cell suit that is not a great fit and patched up and I froze my b@!!@£$ off, so i've nothing to compare to. Cheers.

If the company has messed up, they have to pay for the shipping back and send you out the suit you ordered at no extra cost, they can't force you to accept a partial refund. I'd get them to send you the open cell you ordered.
So you know, it might not be quite as warm (I've never tested and doubt it makes a huge difference) BUT getting into a nylon lined suit is a joy as you don't have to lube up.
