Managed to get out sat eve only prawns and bait fish seen on low eve .with 1st timer!put some pots in on south to soak over night hope there still there in morn! Went again this afternoon s2 3 hr before high ! Absolutely stunning conditions Mediterranean like with Red Sea viz 15m+you could just see infinity which ever way you looked .no hood or gloves needed.While teaching a newbie managed to hit 5 mullet only to see spear bounce off!got one in the end about 2lbs .lots of sholes of mullet and some bass one small one swam over my elbow to then look me in the eye 6" from my face !then I was met by a big bass in 2' of water prob about 5-7lbs didn't have time to get a shot in !All in all a fantastic day for me and my nephew newbie spearo!weather is brill at moment!Foxy and Will how did you do?
Not so well im afraid..... Tried a lot of spots around the same place as last week and even back at the launch spot...... Water fairly murky and Not a fish seen! What a difference a few miles makes!!! That said, it was a great day with plenty of swimming and lots of weird non-fish critters

To be fair though Will, we didnt blank completely..... There were the two fish near 'hoover corner'....... And i did prod a jelly .... Oh and i didnt tell you, I chased a crab into the shore before we got out. It was about 3 inches across but very very cross so counts double..

Very quick report as I've just got back from the coast - had to log in and check the HoF (Hall of Fame) as I thought I might have a record catch... not to be though, my Golden Grey from this afternoon went 2lb 8oz which puts it 2nd behind a Southern entry of 2lb 9oz - so close! It's over the Welsh sea record though, which isn't bad! A stunning beast which will meet the BBQ tomorrow evening!
Had a PB Grey mullet from deep kelp (on video) yesterday and saw possibly the biggest free swimming bass in memory - good times! Not really that fishy anywhere really - will report tomorrow.
In other news, has anyone else noticed all the horrible, green, floaty weed that's appeared in a lot of the sheltered spots? It's vile! I had a very quick peek in the corner of Aberdaron Sat evening - hideous - it's so thick you can't see thing - not very nice to see the sand missing either - the bottom (where I was) was all grey clay - the storms really did some damage! I saw another beach that has at least 6 feet of sand missing compared to last year.
EDIT: Just looked at the Hall of Fame again with less sleepy eyes - turns out my GG is the 2nd largest, not the 3rd - and only by 1 oz. After 3 hours driving I managed to mistake 2lb 1oz for 2lb 10oz.

Goof Fishing guys! Bro that's a cracking mullet! I think i will be heading over tomorrow afternoon eve, going to call of for a low tide session in north wales and then down to the llyn for a high tide session later if anybody is around.

Golden Grey - 2lb 8oz - I thought it would have weighted more to be honest - lovely fish though - taken in about 5 meters of water over sand - visbility was over 10 meters.

3rd Annual Member Meet in the UK will be held in Guernsey (Channel Islands) again between 8th – 10th
We still have room for a few more members to join in the fun.
The spearfishing competition entry is full as we limit the number to 20 divers, however there are still opportunity's to free dive with Apneaboy who will be running a two day freediving course.
Of course you can just come on over & join in the evening entertainment, go you own way spearfishing around our coast & still have time to watch the daily weigh ins !
Come on over and dive our legendary waters where so many British records have been caught... both diving or fishing... you will be welcome.

Went out this morn from pwllheli on boat rod fishing but jumped in a few times OMG the viz is stunning I could see the bottom @ 12m small pollock .bass,spider ,dogs,wrasse,mullet seen ,pull my prawn pot up with blennys ,crabs 1prawn ,and 1
small lobster.saw big spider which I dropped down to which had a place with it only had knife
on me but to slow to stab it!a good off shore wind north easterly .only caught an anemone ,a starfish and a tiny pollock on rod .LOL.weathers great still .

Hey all I'm hoping to head down tomorrow afternoon, get down there for a low tide dive and hang around for another dive on the push in the eve. I have space in the car if anyone is interested
Oh dear...
Did you at least see anything?I must say, it's not that fishy this year (for me anyway) - spoke to a couple of fishermen who both agreed, they said that even the mackeral aren't really showing this year.
