Hi,I'm a complete novice.Thinking of spearfishing.Live in Plymouth Devon.Keen sea angler.Looking to buy !st gun.unfortunately have poor grip due to arthritis.have read about various models but no info on the ammount of poundage/pressure to load the guns.Had a recent conversation about a Brazilain wishbone. Not how this works.Any advice welcome.:hmm

Welcome to Deeperblue Saint.:)

Foxfish is right check out the Devon thread and see who else is in your area. Also check out the Cornwall,Dorset and Guernsey threads for ideas and advise.

Welcome to deeperblue mate :friday

Don't worry too much about your grip, I has a crap grip in my left hand due to an accident many years ago. I just twist my wrist to make a ledge and rest the band on there, I load 20mm bands like that no worries at all. Try and hook up with one of the guys to have a go before you buy

Welcome aboard saint. :)

Lots of helpful advice here as you have already found out from the UK spearos here.

Thanks for the welcome, I'll check out the southwest threads.Foxfish, I really appreciate that you have taken the trouble to dig out that link. It was useful. I am reading as much as I can on spearfishing and have even got my trunks wet at the local swimming pool. I definitely have to work on my fitness. I know I have a long way to go but it is gratifying to know that there is a wealth of knowledge here. Thanks again for your welcome.

Welcome, Saint. As you've seen, there's a good group of UK members here. Enjoy the forums!
