NYC freedivers

i am recently new to new york (from ireland) and was hoping to find out if there are any freediving clubs or training sessions in NYC or nearby. Or if anyone is interested and wants to try a bit of freedive training get in touch.

There are actually a lot of freedivers in the region, probably because of the population density (it certainly isn't because of the great diving spots).

We do a lot of diving in quarries and lakes and some of these are reasonably deep (Dutch Springs 100+, Bainbridge Sportsman's club 135+, Wabank Quarry 145+, Round Valley Lake 180+). Dutch often gets vis up to 60' (I measured 60' there today).

Drive time to Dutch is about 2 hours from NYC. There are a bunch of NYC and LI divers on the forum if you want to find buddies for pool training. You might want to take a look at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eastcoastfreediver too.
