octopus

any1 seen any octopus in the uae? where?
reason i ask is because i fancy having polpo alla diavola

lol no i mean alive in their natural habitat. lol... i had friends tell me in khor fakkan. will have to check it out soon

I saw them in Dibba... but only at night... usually when we go for night spearfishing trips over there... i don't use my speargun to catch them.. just a "nizah".. not a big one though... but when the philipino people on the beach saw me cleaning it.. they came to me and asked to buy it from me because they knew it is fresh ...
I took it home and i didn't know how to cook it...so I BBQ it..

So far i did not see any in khorfakkan or sharja there were i dive. Just this morning i been there to sharja and i saw one squeed.

I think also in the Persian Gulf (if im not mistaken), we do get the blue ring octopus species (as I heard from a diving buddy) so be careful as those, though seemingly peaceful and tiny looking creatures, can be extremely venomous !
