I'm 48, long time scuba diver and in good shape. I am getting into apnea and I'm fortunate to have some top divers nearby.

Is there such a thing as Masters or Over 40 categories in apnea competition? Or is age irrelavant?

Thanks and dive safe
while freediving, everyone are kids my friend, no matter what age.. it's all in your head
diving age

we have a more "experienced" diver down here by the name of Volkmar who dived 50m before Skin or myself and has been setting the standards for many years. I get the impression diving improves with age!:)
The IAFD organization has 'Senior' categories for every event. Annabel Briseno holds 'senior' records in several women's events. I believe senior to them means over 50 yrs old.

The IAFD still exists and recently released the FREEDIVER-Pro line of gear. You can find it on their website.

They have stated that Pipin's next record attempt will be happening in the next few months.
