olimpic games

What is your opinion to consider some apnea diciplines in the olimpic games?, Somebody knows if will be posible?, How?.

I often thought it would be great to be part of the olympic games.
And we know freediving is an old sport so why not. We see Beachball and other things on TV at the olympic games, so why not freediving.

Good idea!

From what I know, the only untradittional water sport that has any chance to become an Olympic discipline is Swimming with fins. I know for sure that CMAS has been trying for ages to promote it but so far it didn't happen. As far as the apnea goes - I don't think this is possible in any near future.
However, I've heard of organization that is trying to embace all non Olympic sports. They organize paralel games of some kind. I am sure our local Federation has been approached by them.

I'd love to here any additional info on the subject...

Cheers,

IB

Hi

the other and The big different that freediving in a olimpic game can make is that : "This will eradicate all the different that the diferent freediving organizacion have... permiting all freedivers to compete together as a group..esa sera la gran diferencia en admitir que el freedidving sea parte de un juego olimpico pues erradicaria todas las distenciones entre las diferentes organizaciones - logrando asi que todo los deportistas compitan juntos
