Omer Cayman HF 95 double 18mm bands

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I honestly dont know mate, I dont use that setup so perhaps one of the others can help you out here.
Did you buy that other band you spoke about earlier? Why dont you just go and exchange that for a shorter one?

if you convert to a dyneema wishbone you will have to file and sand the machined cut in the spear to remove all sharp edges or it won't last very long, they are nice and quiet too.

Looking at the threaded ends on mine, I don't believe they can be moved. You would have to break the plastic threads and cut the rubber down to size. If you're using the sharkfin shaft, it should already be safe for dyneema.

If you can get the plastic threaded piece off the rubber or slide it down, then you could reuse it. My guess is they have a machine that compresses the band in order to install the fitting.

Did the place you got the second band know or assume you were going to try a 2 band rig? The second band would need to be longer to make it to the second tab or notch. Mine barely makes it to the first notch.

before cutting, take note that Omer products have a warranty: if you buy one of their products and there's anything wrong with them, the seller MUST give you the good stuff in replacement (IF you still have the envoice).
So why don't you just go to back the shop where you bought it, and ask them to give you a correct size band?

First of all thank you all for your ideas, they were quite useful!
I shortened the band to 54cm and it works great, the power increased the flat trajectory of the shaft by 1m give or take, the loading of the gun is more difficult but it's fine for me, I didn't notice any accuracy loss!
Shot a mullet from 3m distance and the shaft went clean through, I am starting to like the gun more and more every time I get in the water!
Thanks again

practice your diving technique to close the gap between you and the fish before you start tearing apart your gun. I am a horrible shot(wich I'm slowly fixing) but I keep up with everyone b/c I usually shoot fish from less than 3m.
EDIT: so it was a band problem ohwell but this is still good advice lol

Nice! Glad it working out for you. I just tied on a dyneema wishbone on a 19mm band. I can't wait to try it out. I go the 19, because I could not find 18mm. The band material is much more firm than the OMER band too. I believe the hole through the center of the band is bigger on the OMER. I was told by the place I ordered that the band material is USA Latex from Prime Line. Now I just have to get a weekend free to try it out.
