Omer fin fitting help

I just purchased a set of Omer Stingrays as a backup pair for a trip I am going on (they fit in my bag if I remove the pockets- unlike my carbons).
I plan to use them with no socks exclusively, but am a bit concerned that they may be too big. Does anyone have any fin fitting suggestions to help me determine if I should send for a smaller size (in Chicago simply trying another pair on is not really an option). I can fit a finger behind the foot, and with my toe extended (dry) they do not feel particularly snug, but I dont think they'll just fall off- maybe power transfer would be poor(?). I'd rather the fins fit well than wear keepers, if possible.
Any help would be appreciated.

They sound too loose. If you can fit your foot in with it dry... It's way too big.

You can make your own spacer / orthotic from some 3/16" plastic sheeting with electrical tape around the edges to stop it from chafing the footpockets.

They're called "finserts".
I'll put up a write up on my blog within the next week or so.

They also help with power transfer and stiffen up the footpockets.

I also ALWAYS wear finkeepers. The fat ones are the best.

Great- thanks for the info. I'll check out the blog, and try ordering the next size down. I also just ordered another pair of fin keepers.
