Shane, nahh I'm still a rookie compared to those guys :) All of them have at least 45 years of "real" spearfishing experience, that's like yours and my experience put together...

Pat as my venerable dive buddy, I felt it compelled to share your small amberjack picture with the world. Pat, you can do better than that son rofl
If you shot that amberjack on a regular dive trip you know I would think you were really stoned, and...we all know the guys working at the Pentagon don't get stoned. Man that's a great picture I'm glad I cought you standing next to it. Wish I could have been on that boat too having snow cones with Captain Woody watching you dive for barely legal Aj's.

The really funny thing is that while you shot that, Billy shot the 70 pounder that took big fish during the meet...eh eh eh. What I want to know is, what was going through your mind when you pulled your Aj into the boat and you saw Billy's stout laying on the deck?

Don Juan or Juan John rather-the water temps were 80-85 and mostly 83-85 in the bluewater. The fish are usually bigger in the cooler water but none the less they still got a few :D

Hey Mark! Thanks for the great photos .I was hoping to get to hatteras this year but
none of the guys that was kicking the idea of going made any plans to attend so another year gone by and i'm left with just photos to remind me that next year I will have to plan on going solo. Thanks again

Well, I finally got around to publishing the final results onto our website and some other pictures from the tournament after two weeks gone by. If you care to see them they're on our website at www.omerdiving.com under the news and events and the picture gallery links at the top.

Some interesting photos of the rescue by the Coast Guard of the Stalker as it was trying hard to stay afloat on Day 2. The Coast Guard couldn't believe it when they pulled up to the boat and the divers weren't wearing their life jackets because they had them connected to their gear bags, no kidding... rofl

AJ, sorry you couldn't make it but I understand completely. I only live 3.5hrs away and it's a pain to get to Hatteras....

Juan-John, after two more weeks gone by and we're now on our 11th set of prototype pole spear. Manny is particular...let's just put it that way. Trying to figure out the best anodization color for it now-the last thing I guess, silver or blue or black? Most likely silver. Well, I'm being hypocritical, I was supposed to only talk about the Hatteras Tourney here.

Check out Screen Name's boat BOHICA. Maybe I'll score a free ride on it one day when I'm down in FL :D John, a 38' Fountain with triple 225Hp Mercs passed us riding back yesterday from diving 60 miles offshore. God did it make us look slow as we were going 30k/35mph...
