Open Heal Fins and Stainless Straps

Ok - Considering buying a set of those SporaSub open Heal jobs from Deeperblue store. I have to make up my mind on a new set of fins soon - 40days till Nanaimo/Sechelt and the Halibut are scared....

Has anyone put a set of DIR style Stainless fin straps on open heal fins?

The rubberstraps are natoriously flimsy (anyone remember the old Cressi Open heals? Piece of $hit.....)

If they work it would be tres Slick!

I Know Jefe Sven dives open heal - any thoughts?
