Ordering suits from Elios

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I wonder if they're getting a ddos attack? Some competitor must be jealous of their success :blackeye

Weird. In the past couple of months Will Trubridge and Martin Stepanek have also had their sites hacked.

why do you like more this two pieces suit?

Sorry Val, I don't quite understand the question.

On another note, I have paid for my suit now and only have to play the waiting game now.

Looking forward to feeling thos afroc-cuban ladies' handiwork all over my body! :inlove

Ok, so I know that a lot of people have had Elios suits on here. So should I follow Broseidon's suggestion of getting the suit a couple cm's smaller than actual or does it fit quite well with actual measurements as well?

I would DEFINATELY give the measurements slightly smaller than you actually are!

The suit is too big for me around the stomach area, neck, wrists.

I was VERY careful with my measurments!

Only place I went slightly smaller (2 cm or so) was my stomach as I'm currently trying to lose some of those pesky pounds. We'll see how it fits.

Now I just gotta convince some of the guys at the local freediving club to start taking trips to quarries for some diving sessions!

Choosing between the plethora of available materials has been my toughest decision in years; Elios came up with the idea of mixing materials: Nylon outside for the pants and smoothskin for the jacket. I may be sitting on my bum or knees and need lining, but the jacket will not be stressed, hence my choice for smooth top.

I received my suit yesterday and the combination appears to work. I must say that I have only used it in my pool so haven't done any distance or depth with it.

It certainly does not appear tight, I guess a 1 cm less would have been an option, it's all still to find out... Suit has superior finishing though, no stitches in the top part (except for the beaver tail). I love the way it looks, pity they didn't throw in a gagball with it ;) Can't wait to get into colder and deeper water!

The combination I chose:

  • Jacket closed with hood incorporated 5mm Smoothskin Black outside / New black coating inside
  • High waist pants 5mm Nylon elastic Black outside / New Black coating cell inside Neoprene Heiwa
  • arms over head position (fin swimming)

The suit is relatively easy to don without soap or talcum powder (although it would make it easier, I reckon) and sticks. It sure is flexible enough to swim with (for a 5mm).

I also ordered a pair of gloves, 2mm 'made in Thailand' but I lost them instantly to my wife, who is over the moon with them (yesterday night in 13°C water they proofed warm enough). 16 euro is an absolute steal!

@Ecchik: happy to show you my new suit and some neoprene samples, let's meet up for a quarry or lake dive!

I've got four elios suits - and have gotten two for my daughter as well - wait...no..I've got five. One plush lined 3 mil I don't ever use, a 5 mil open in, nylon out, which i don't use any more either, a 6 mil smooth out open in with nylon out bottoms that I also don't use.

In fact those are all for sale.

The two I do use are 3 and 5 mil smooth out (pelagos) open in. I love these suits. I really feel the diff monofinning in a smooth out suit and they are much warmer in cool air. All the suits fit perfectly. Elios builds a little space into the chest for breathing.

Val - the two piece suits have no zippers - they are very warm compared with a one-piece suit with a zip up the back. The open cell interior also clings to the skin and prevents water circulation.

@PTOOT: I'm up for some diving if you don't mind lending me a suit until mine shows up.

Just so everyone knows I went with a Nylon Out, Opencell In w/Blackcell Coating, 5 mm pants and jacket + 2 mm vest for winter diving.

No socks and no gloves, I'll find some gloves that fit me well at the local dive shop.

MAN! Can't wait to start lake diving.

Can't beat those elios 3 finger mitts for winter diving - great price too!

I just ordered a new winter suit from Elios and had them throw in another pair of those mitts for winter because they work so well. This will be my 6th Elios suit that I've owned. I went smoothskin out for faster drying when ice diving. I've found that smoothskin in greater thicknesses holds up pretty well. It's the 3mm suits i kept on blowing apart.

Hey jon, my 3 mil has been holding up great! I'm pretty careful with it, but the thing is like putting on a sweatshirt or something - really nice.

My second 3mm held up much better than the first. I bought it with black shadow lining and always lube the hell out of it before I put it on- no problems. I just think of that first 3mm as a learning suit. :blackeye
