Outboard question for those in the know.

I've just sold my Shetland and i'm looking around for a rib for this year. I've found one that comes with a 2002 yamaha F50 FETL four stroke. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this engine and what they would consider to be a good price.
Any help would be appreciated.

The yam 50 4s is a very good motor, a bit heavy but very sound in design.
I dont know what you want to know apart from that?
Value would be dependent on history & hours?

Cheers foxfish, i've spent a lot of time searching through that site and others trying to find another one. I just wanted to get a rough ballpark idea what a fairly clean 2002 engine would be selling for to gauge whether or not the boat package i was looking at was a good deal. Some engines have a good reputation, others a bad one, i was hoping this engine recieved the former.

the F50 is one hell of an engine how bigs the rib?

That was a rather dated post. I decided not to go for that rib as it was too big and bought a Valiant 380D Sport with a Tohatsu 30hp 2 stroke. It hasn't missed a beat all summer and ticks all the boxes.

My mate had one of those.
