Packing stretching injury — very slow recovery, normal?

Hi fellow freedivers. I strained my right side from packing about a month ago (lower ribs / intercostal area — pushed packing volume too hard, too fast). X-ray clean, so its muscular, not lung.

It's healing but very slowly. Been ~2 weeks now of not aggravating it at all — including no hard endurance and weight training where I pressure abbs — and it's improving, just gradually. Still feel it lightly rest and with deep breaths and coughing.

Two questions:
  1. A month in with slow recovery like this; is this normal for a packing strain, or should it be quicker?
  2. Anyone know a freediving-aware doctor or physio I could see — in the Netherlands, or someone who does remote/video consults? Most MDs here have no clue about packing injuries, our sport is relatively obscure

Thanks!

muscle? if so these can take a while - several months to a year+
electric therapy helps a ton, i've had some injuries from kickboxing and treated them like this, recovery went very good after. ask a physiotherapist for that
you might lose some flexibility there but after 2 years it should be fully healed
