DiveCarib, located in English Harbour Town (Antigua & Barbuda), are looking for a PADI OWSI to join us for the coming winter season (November – April 2026/7).

• Mechanical experience (boats/compressors)
We are a very small dive centre; 2 boats, 4-5 staff members, 2 of which are the owners and dive instructors. We are a small tight knit team who accommodate a wide array of clientele, from young local students completing sponsored courses, to some of the wealthiest people on the planet (Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour are super yacht destinations), so it is important that you are a people person . We are busiest November through to April, and so are always in need of an extra instructor for at least this period, in order to help with teaching, guiding, filling cylinders, and hopefully eventually answering emails and calls etc. Boat handling experience would be a huge advantage as it is our hope that whoever fills this position will eventually be driving the boats. For the right candidate, and depending on the economic climate, it might be possible to offer a 12 months contract, after a successful initial 6 months, if that is something that interests you.
This role would likely be more suitable for a new instructor, as you will not have a huge amount of disposable income after paying for rent/food expenses. However, I think this is a fantastic opportunity for someone starting out, and my business partner Leigh Cunningham (previous record holder) and myself are happy to take you under our wing, and impart our industry knowledge on you, and for the right candidate there is the possibility to progress to assist in other areas of the business, and of course significant additional responsibilities would justify an increase in salary.
Salary offered: US$2,000 per month (more than half our clients are American so we do often get a share of tips but this can’t be relied upon)
Average rent for studio apartment in English Harbour: US$1000 per month
Room in a house share: possibly as low as US$600 per month
Average food bill per month (1 person): US$400
