After a few hours of finning / diving I get pain in my right foot. Most likely because it was a while ago I was last diving and my foot and ankle is unused to the unnatural stretching motion when moving foot forward in the finning cycle.

Do any of you guys have training tips for strengthening the foot for the part of the finning motion where you move the leg/foot forward and stretch the ankle?

The best training for tolerating finning.. is finning.. but maybe a few hours is too much to start with.

think of it like running, you need to build up distance over time.. If you just go to 40km/week right away you'll end up with joint issues and shin splints.

So try just 1hr of finning, and build up from there.

Thank you very much for the solution.

Get some softer fins and comfortable footpockets. Tight footpockets and stiff blades are a nightmare.
