i just started freediving recently and the other day i experienced pain in my nose. i thought it might be because of a slightly congested sinus but my ears were pain free. it started in about 6 feet of water. any suggestions?

was the pain on the way up or down? yes, must be sinuses or a slightly blocked nasal cavity, there are several, around the eyes, in the cheeks etc. get some more prof. advice cause I ain't no expert!

Could be a sinus squeeze, since you know you had a congested nose. Your ear doesn't have to hurt for your nose to hurt, you know..;)

Better do as azapa says, go consult a doctor. Preferably an ENT specialist.

Have you checked with your doc yet? The last few times I trained in DYN, I would end my dive with an excruciating headache. I NEVER get headaches...so I was a bit worried. Went to my doctor, was diagnosed with a sinus infection, and am taking meds now to clear it up. Funny thing is, I didn't have any noticeable congestion. Coincidentally, I was swimming in only 6 ft of water, too. Sinuses are funny things. Do a search on the boards, and you'll earn tons about them...
