Hi,

Last week I was doing my CO2 session in (shallow) pool. My last exercise was swimming 50m with monofin (25m sprint, ~10 seconds pause at the end of the pool, 25m sprint) four times, with 1:30 break of normal breathing between reps. I have been doing this exercise for some time, so it wasn't for me a new challenge. After the training I felt mild pain in the right-top part of my head. Since the pain was mild and, after all, it was a CO2 session, I just ignored it.
Three days later I was doing the same exercise and this time I felt mild pain in the same area during the exercise. The pain started after first part of rep (first 25m sprint). I stopped my training and went home. It's been 4 days since that training and the pain is still there. I've not been doing any training, tried to get good night sleep and got some aspirin, but nothing has really changed.

Some observations:
- mild pain in the right-top, very specific, part of my head,
- I feel the pain when turning my head left or down, while coughing
- after getting aspirin the pain disappears for a couple of hours

What could be the cause of the pain? Is there anything I can try before going to the doctor? How long would you suggest to wait before going to the neurologist?

Wow, I don't know what the problem is, but I love to know.

The CO2 headache I had after a 16x50m (12'41") in Germany was only there for about 15 minutes, all over my head. I felt a bit like a zombie ;) But your location specific pain makes me believe it may be a blood vessel.

The headache is certainly not carbondioxide related. It's origin could be anything and you might want to visit your general physican for further advice.
