Wait, so does that mean that the higher the IQ the shorter the static?
On one hand that means more oxygen used by faster/more processing. On the other an easier to overcome psycological factor. Any thoughts? (*No pun intended)

P.S. I have experienced the same thing. Better to train for a guaranteed result, rather than a personal best. It is much more psycologically rewarding. Plus, it's not so god-awfully boring!
