Physiological versus mental CO2 tolerance

Wait, so does that mean that the higher the IQ the shorter the static?

On one hand that means more oxygen used by faster/more processing. On the other an easier to overcome psycological factor. Any thoughts? (*No pun intended)

P.S. I have experienced the same thing. Better to train for a guaranteed result, rather than a personal best. It is much more psycologically rewarding. Plus, it's not so god-awfully boring!
 
I'm beginning to think that once someone reaches a certain level psychologically, the only way to get a longer static or dynamic is by improving physiologically. What stops my breathhold is not discomfort but the realisation that the world is becoming a bit distant and a muted tingling sensation - ie the awareness that I'm about to BO. If I judge it right I have the slightest of sambas, a couple of jolts that its hard for others to see. It seems to me that given an adequate state of psychological comfort, its simply a question of how long your body can go without oxygen. To improve that, you need to train physically. I'm certainly no expert though, just a spearo dabbling in freediving.

I have got to this stage too - the psychological factor can only go so far, then there needs to be physical improvement (or improvement in decreasing brain activity?) I mean only during the breathhold!!

I'm exactly the opposite. In fact I often stand up and walk at the end of a dry static just to "test" am I even close to BO. I quit simply because the urge to breathe gets too strong to handle.

Of course this should be good news, since I could propably go much further still ;)
 
hey guys i'm not a satanist anymore but i still do dangerous training sometimes
 
the same with I quit because of chest or contractions disconfort my contractions look more like convulsions warm up no warm up it's all the same they come hard and strong like hell that they they can bother my swimming technique :S!?!?!?!?
lately I feel than less but times to times they make me a huge surprise ?!?!?!?!
any thoughts?!??!?!
