I searched and found nothing on this question. People have said they have been sweating in there Picasso Apnos 5mm in fairly cold waters.

Is this suit, in 3mm, too warm for say, dynamics in the pool w/85 F water? I would think I'd be really hot in that...

Secondly, how about warm open water situations 60+ F?

Lastly, I'm new to the site and I love it.... I found myself a new home!

Regards,

Pat

Pat,
I own two Picasso suits (3mm and 5mm) that are built similar to Apnos.
I find 3mm a little bit too warm in 85(F) water and just perfect in 80(F).
The 5mm suit works great for me in around 60(F) water.
For perspective, I am 5'8", 150#, with not much insulation coming from fat.

Well, I don't know if this will help, but I've dove in my 5mm Apnos in water that was 10-13C or so, and it was amazing, it kept me remarkably warm. I can't comment on the 3mm suit, as the 5mm suit is the only one I've ever worn! And..."for perspective" ;) , I'm 6'4" and about 210lbs with a little bit of flabbiness... I imagine that will worsen a bit over the holidays, but oh well!

Thanks guys.... I decided on buying it & I will give an update- especially on swimming in the pool @ 85 F

In my opinion, 3 mm suits would keep you very warm in a 85F swimming pool, since you are swimming.
Its a bit different when you do statics, the 3mm might just be ok.

Cheers,

Roberto
