I got my picasso apnos today and I really love it. I put it on based on the method described on the elios webpage (also seen here http://spearfishingsa.co.za/shop/wetsuits/tips.htm). However, as I put it on, I noticed the seam where the chest pad is bonded to the suit has already started to split a bit. Does anyone else have this problem? Should I be putting the suit on a different way to prevent this splitting? How should I go about repairing the splits?

I have seen this happening, however, the split shouldnt be big, max a mm in all the border. This happens more in smooth skins wet suits than in lycra ones.
The elasticity of the neopren causes this, cause the pad has almost no elasticity, so the borders are always going to split a bit.

Cheers,

Roberto

I repaired the split today. It was much easier than I expected. The local dive shop recommended "Marine GOOP". I just brushed the goop into the split, waited a few minutes and then applied pressure to the pad to sort of roll the seam back into place. I am very pleased with the fix. Looks as good as new!
