Polymorphic plastic

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Looks like you are having fun mate - great stuff!
I will have to wait until your guns all together before making to many comments but, the handle looks a bit weighty?
 
Possibly. If it ends up a problem I'll either hollow it out a bit or heat it up and re-shape.
 
Realised last night that I only used about 225g of polymorph for the handle not 400g as reported. Having a lesson on Friday night on bagging carbon.
 
just a thought but how would this stuff hold up as a barrel for a gun build, like make a mold and put it in the mold and while still malleable set the shaft, trigger mech, and other small things?

No chance mate, this is not a suitable product for a complete gun barrel.
You could possibly use is as a former & cover the component with fiberglass or carbon but its not really suitable for that either.
It is good for small components that dont require structural strength.
 
The best thing to do Chris is to buy some and have a play, doesn't cost much on ebay and provides hours of fun.Then you can make your own mind up about its limitations.
