Hi all,
Anyone got any advice on spearing Portland Bill? Best entry/exits. Not speared down there before but looking to get in in the next few weeks. Also wondered about outside Lullworth cove.

I never tried Portland bill yet but I hear it’s not the easiest place to dive. I know the tides are racing there like mad and that normally people dive around slack water, I would recommend caution to begin with.
Lulworth cove inside I dived a few times... not a big deal of fish but can throw a few flat fish if you follow the line between rock and sand.
Outside Lulworth cove I never tried but I saw videos from Jurassic frogman (I think) on YouTube, on the left as you go out plenty of kelp ledges that hold small and medium sized pollock and wrasse, shoals of mullet and all sorts. The right side as you go out I didn’t hear much but I know some have tried... it might be easier if you acces from “stair hole”
From fishing the area rod and line I know that the tides can be fairly vicious so I would recommend trying on neaps if you can choose.. just until you get used to the place.

I generally can dive in the week and very rarely in the weekend, I’m quite new and my abilities are rather limited but if you fancy we could try diving together...

Hi Selenium, all thats sounds good. I've seen some of Jurassic Frogman's YouTube vids. There's definitely a lot down there. I'll struggle to get down in the week but will try and give you some notice if I'm headed down incase you can make it. Would be well up for diving together. I've been diving for most of my life so quite comfortable. I'm tied up for the next month but should be back down in June.
