Powerlung

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
People have posted about it on the forums before. Most said it will do little to improve your maximum breathold. What it may be useful for is to improve the stamina of your breathing muscles for long periods of freediving. So probably better training for spearfishing.

Cheers,
Wal

Walrus is correct. It is not intended for increasin apnea, what it does is strengthen your muscles in your lungs for stamina and endurance. It would be perfect because i love soccer, running, and freediving.

Tests show that this overpriced bic-pen with the insides taken out actually shortens breath-hold capablility. Probably because of strengthening the muscle without stretching, so make sure you pack-stretch and reverse-pack stretch, which you should be doing anyway ;)
You could go to a hardware store and make something very similar with some plumber's PVC parts.
Or purse your lips to create the same effect.
Run, swim or bike and get all the benefits of an actual cardiovascular routine.
Cheers,
Erik Y.
