It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Glad to hear it! That's the first time I've heard of someone doing that!

Those stuff could be more than annoying.
I know a guy who was a natural born hippy and artist. He didn't go to the army (we have mandatory sevice here) because he is a pacifist.
In 99 (I think) he had a website with lots of 60's style flowers in the background and some beatles stuff and such.
Unfortunetly he didn't know enough about computers. Some one managed to take hold of his computer and made an extreme right-wing site using his computer and IP that called for the assisination of our prime minister (Barak those years).
Since we already had one prime minister murderd 4 years before then, and much was blaimed on incitation the police raided his house confiscated the computer and threw him in jail. He was arrested for almost a year.
Cops were just too dumb with computers to realize it's not the peaceful hippy who did that (he even voted for Barak as he was the left wing's man to the office). I think he was cleared under the lack of evidence at the end (a shame to our judicinal system) and wasn't allowed to use IM programs and stuff like that for years after.
So who ever thought stealing your credit card number is the worst case scenario....

EDIT: and just to clear this up, it's not an urban legend, I know this guy since 8th grade probably.

It's worse than I thought! We have to be so careful, as there are troublemakers out there who exploit those who don't know about them...

Fortunately the authorities seem to be having some success catching and locking up hackers recently -- 2 year sentences seem to be the norm.
