It's likely acclimatization to depth / pressure.
It's also thoracic flexibility.
Recipe to help address when you aren't able to dive: Uddiyana Bhanda and 10" inflatable ball stretches, prescribed a la Aaron Solomons.
Combine these with as much safe diving (with a buddy and not pushing deeper until you can hang at -20 for a "while" without discomfort).

It is the pressure of the surrounding water compressing the air in your lungs. Look up Boyals Law. If you end up diving much deeper you are going to be having equalization problems as you cant get the air from your lungs up to your mouth to equalize. Once at these depths you run the risk of lung squeeze injuries . There is a lot for you to learn proceed with caution!!

Same problem at 29 meters, it's a common issue judging from some friends having it also. Would appreciate a Lot some extra-detail feedback on how to address the problem. Didn't manage to find in forum.
