Wondering if anyone could help me, I've got a D3 which I haven't used for a while. Problem is I need to change the battery, but can't seem to get the rear cover off as it has pretty much disintegrated at the point that you use to unlock the cover. Anyone had this problem and found a solution, know I can easily get a replacement if I can get the rear cover off, just not sure how to achieve that. . .

I had the same problem. I messed up the coin slot and couldn't twist the cover off. My solution was to heat the tip of a large screwdriver on the gas stove, then stick it into the plastic at 90 degrees to the original slot. It made its own slot, and I was able to remove the cover.

This Screwdriver idea is GENIUS! Would just add the probably obvious - once the new slot is formed by the hot screwdriver, cool the screwdriver and the plastic (to let it harden again) before you try to turn the cover.
