Problem with my hood

After about 2 hours of diving the back of my head gets so itchy I want to rip my scalp off. I tried bleaching it-didn't work. I tried more bleach with scrubbing and I will find out in a few days.

Any advice?

I get this same thing also and it drives me nuts sometimes! I will be anxious to see what causes it. I get this also if I wear a non-hooded suit and I have a swim cap on instead.

Never had that exact problem but I did once get a sort of bacterial thing inside on the lining of my dry suit and it was difficult to get rid of. Wasn't sure about using bleach on a £600 suit but in the end after trying progressivly strong detergent I killed it off.

I take it you're referring to a hooded suit, and not a separate hood, right blueface?

I've got a separate hood, and I can wear it all day without problems. About the only problem I have is when the end of it occasionally rolls up around my neck.

Yes, it is a hooded suit. The good news is, I didn't have any problems today. It appears the bleach and scrubbing worked.

Not too many micro organisms can take bleach AND scubbing. I wouldn't scrub too hard though.

I guess another option would be to cut off the hood from the suit and get a vest/hood combo thing and wear that under the wetsuit. I'm glad the bleach worked because I really don't want to fool with yet another thing to put on.

Thanks for responding! Freedivinmike, you might want to try bleach but please don't destroy the hood!
