Hi everyone, I'm new here and new to free diving. I've always been pretty interested in getting into free diving and I finally started to get into since my buddy who is a dive master started going a lot.
I just started doing the static tables and doing a lot of high intensity interval cardio training to better condition my body. The deepest I have gone is somewhere around 35-45 feet. (10.6 - 13.76 meters) I'm not sure on the exact depth, my friend and I had to guess by measuring body lengths. My best static hold is about 1:04 (I haven't checked it again for a while), but underwater at depth I can only go about 38 seconds. I think this may be partially due to the pressure maybe, but also, I am much less comfortable pushing myself past the urge to breathe while I am out in the ocean.
Anyways, I have been doing my tables pretty consistently since I see on here that it seems to be the best way to improve. On the CO2 tables, I have been doing 50% of max breath holds and starting at 2:00 min rest and decreasing the rest by 15 seconds everytime. I feel like by the time I get to 45 second rest it should be getting harder right? My question is, since my breath hold isn't that long yet, should my starting rest be less than 2 mins? I just used a table I found online, but the table was for someone with a 2 minute max.
I guess I'm asking how do I fine tune my tables for my max hold?
Thank you in advance
