Hi mongoose,
If you haven't had time to read all the beginner pages, CO and O2 tables
are a way of training breath hold, especially to better your CO2 tolerance.
they consist of time controlled breathe-up and breath-hold times.
so a good starter CO2 might be breathe-up 2min, breath-hold 1min 30 sec, then breathe 1min 45 sec, hold for 1.30 again...
decreasing the breathe-up time until your breathe-up is only 15sec, and still hold for 1min 30sec.
It's always fascinating to see people do it the first time, your body really
does get used to the high CO2 levels. try it!
an O2 table is the exact opposite, your breathe-up time remains the same,
but your breath-hold increases.

what do your plans for SA look like, by the way?
stay in touch!

Thanks for the info. What does the term "breath-up" mean? Yeah, looks like I will be in Cape Town on the 10th. Where are you in Cape Town and where are you doing most of your diving?

Hiya!
Your breathe-up is your breathing preparation for your dive, ie. breathing, basically.
For maximum dives all divers have sort of their own way of preparing, deep slow breathing being the most common.
Which is what you're going to want to do as preparation for your tables as well.
How long are you staying in Cape?
I'm running a beginners/intermediate course with experienced
Swedish coach and instructor, Sebastian Näslund, also DB member.
If you're around the 20- 22 April, maybe you wanna join?
I live in Muizenberg, do training in blue rock quarry outside somerset west,
but dive the sea wherever it's clean and not too sharky :)
