hello everyone

Someone told me that the time you can stay underwater increases after the 3d-4th dive(apnea). Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Thank's a lot

That's when the mammalian dive-reflex starts to kick in.
Humans still have some built in mechanism left over from the old days. It will help you conserve oxygen by slowing your heart-rate and sending less blood to your non-critical body parts.
On top of that the spleen will release some additional red blood cells that can carry around more oxygen.
