I dived the Brothers, ElphinstoneDaedalus, Zabargard, Rocky Island, St. John's and a few less known spots in the deep south. All were much better than the ones in Hurghada or Sharm el SheikThe highlightswere hammerhead sharks, mantas, oceanic whitetip sharks, eagle rays, dolphins, silvertip sharks and many more. But at almost all spotsthere was a strong current and high waves. Brothers etc. are only divable in the summer months (may-august).

I haven't done the south of the Red Sea but know people who have and loved it!!

This year we went to TABA it was excellent and will probably go back next time, even the snorkelling was excellent.
