Rep points?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
just discovered this thread..ok much has been said already so npoint in recycling, i have a confession to make though, i joined in sept. 2005, and for quite some months i never knew how you actually got rep and i never used to look at my control panel so i didnt notice the comments, i always thought it had to do with the number of posts you made so it made sense that as i posted more i got more rep :) i think it was Jim doe who pointed me to it when i was playing sports commentator and doing live coverage on DB of the freediving world comp in Egypt in Dec. 2006 when someone actually pointed me that there are people giving me points :):) i then started using the system to give back where i felt appropriate...i must say its a fun system, maybe has a mix of popularity and some knowledge but its cool, i think it plays a big role in promoting a positive environment especially among newer members, which is a good thing..
so for all of you who gave me rep before Dec 2006 i aplogize, i never knew about it, nor that i can give some myself. :):):)
cheers

Well, one reason I prefer using the rep for thanking or congratulating is that I dislike "me-too" threads - if everyone thanked publicly for good information, the threads would be just full of the "me too" thanking posts with otherwise no informative value.
[/QUOT i agree, me too,(kidding) this place is like an echo chamber sometimes, where people chime in, just to agree with what has already been said. alot of times, in a kissing up manner that is kinda pathetic besides unnecesary

Yeh, people being nice and friendly to each other is terrible eh jtk. There should be more bitching and slagging people off..... :martial

If you don't like it no one makes you log on. :)
i am on here for information only, believe me , if i knew all this stuff already i would skip it for the sake of all you hypersensitive gals. if you wanna find a friend, maybe a spearfishing site aint the spot. not for me anyway. i got enough friends. and who says everyone on here is friendly?that aint my experience, some of you are down right argumenative, me included

Dammit, you guys have made me a rep whore now. Every time I post, I come back a bit later and click on my CP to see if I'm been met with approval.:)

Bill if was allowed to rep you I would, but I’ve got to spread the love.
May be tomorrow? and for no other reason than you seem like a nice guy. (is that allowed or am i going to get some thrown at me for abusing the rep system):):):)
