Replacement bands for a Gabbiano - where to buy?

I've got a Gabbiano 90 Elite with the big 20mm bands.

These are beginning to show some signs of wear and tear so I need to replace them.

Does anyone know where I can get them?

I had a look there already mate - unfortuanately all of the 20mm bands Apnea stock have a 16mm thread.

I'm 99% sure that Gabbiano takes a 20mm thread. Can anyone clarify that?

Not quite sure what you mean mate - it takes threaded bands -with a 20mm thread.

OK most guns have a muzzle that excepts two sets of bands, one threads into the muzzle end the other passes through a hole in the muzzle = screw in band & circular band.
I am not familar with your gun but 95% of euro guns except a circular band?

Ah, I see what you mean now. Unfortunately no, it doesn't accept a circular band, only a threaded one.

all 16mm bands will fit then except cressi I believe ill let you know maybe we can order two if you like

Actually mate, I think it was the OLD Gabbiano Elite that had the 20mm threads, I read that the new version (2009 onwards) had 16mm threads, even on the 20mm bands.

I've measured my threads and they certainly look like they're 16mm - certainly not 20mm - although I can't be sure that I'm measuring in the right place.

Anyway, I'm just going to order some new bands and hope for the best! Hopefully anything non-Cressi will fit! Will let you know!

I believe Omer do two sizes. Warning: I bought a screw-on Picasso Dyneema wishbone for my 18mm Omer rubber (which I think is the bigger size but its been a while) - although the diameter was the same the threads were quite different . [So I just took the plastic bits off my Omer wishbone & fitted the Picassio dyneema - could have made my own really.]

I spoke to Steve at Apnea last week and he assured me that ALL bands are now made with a standard 16mm thread so I purchased some Omer 18 Power Bands.

Guess what... they don't fit. Waaaaaaay too small :head

Hey Bro,

I have the 20 rubber Gab and you need a conversion kit ( very cheap bit of plastic) to basically take the thread diameter down. Personally I have just replaced mine for another set of 20's and the power is amazing and why would you want less? My last rubbers lasted 3 seasons and were still going clean through big fish over 2 metres away. new bands can tickle fish past that distance easily with care and accuracy. My two pennies worth - stick with the big boy bands!
