if you train static co2 tables, its assumed that times in apnea remain
the same but rest periods decrease right ?

ok..

so, training this way over time increases overall apnea time.
makes sense.

body adapts etc..

so, with training of this type, static, apnea walk etc...

If at the end of a series your times increase, how long after the series
does this enhancement wear off.

in a table lasting 30 minutes as an example, in o2 tables this last loop is nearly always the longest.

when we do FRC etc or just normal warm up dives does the increased resistance to the urge to purge co2 go away in a set period ?

could you say, do statics at lunch time and get better dives on a lesser
warm up pre an evening dynamic/dive session ?

I'm interested as the overall residual effect seems positive towards tables/walking etc but is the overall long term effect just a percentage of
what might be attained if say...

instead of a loop of 8 we did a loop of 16 etc.

btw, i haven't tried this, i'm not experienced enough but the continued increase in hold times during a loop makes me wonder why the loops are normally set to 7 or 8 ?

Is this based around any already aquired data ref: maximum performance attainable in a set time period ?

hope this makes sense.

A very very good set of questions, ones I have often mused over. Unfortunately, I suspect things are too individual for any specific answers to mean much.

In my case:

A 1-2 week diving trip greatly increases my performance. Go back to minimal training (1-2 per week) and things start slipping after a week. After a month or so, I'm back where I was.

In the short term, my dive reflex seems to start slipping away after about 10 minutes. This varies a lot depending on what I am doing.

Sorry, can't say much about tables as I don't do much with them.

Hope you get some more and more detailed answers.
