Respirocytes...perchance to dream

start at section 6.8 so the technical stuff has a basis in dreams.

A wonderful preliminary paper describing a mechanical red blood cell with the ability to deliver 236 times more oxygen to the tissues per unit volume than red blood cells (with similar co2 transport abilities). This apparently translates to 0.2-4 hours underwater time per breath-up!!

The down side is that we currently lack the technology to make such a device.
