420 vs 460
Hi guys, greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
I’m looking at setting up a RIB for spearfishing and have narrowed it down to the Patrol 420 or 460. Plan is to keep it simple — open deck with a tiller handle.
I know the larger boat will ride better in chop, but storage is a bit of a stretch with the 460. For anyone who’s owned or used both, how big is the difference in wave handling and seaworthiness between the two in rougher conditions?
I’m not planning to head way out into the middle of the ocean — just looking to explore offshore coastlines and near-shore reefs. Is it worth to stretch the storage space and extra $ to go for 460? Cheers!
