I am looking at getting a Riffe Metal Tech # 2 or 3. My question is Hawaian Flopper or Threaded large head? What the advantages and disadvantages of each and what kind of conditions would each excel in?

The Riffe threaded head seems so large that it would slow the spear down. I don't have any proof of this, but that what it seems like.

I use the hawaiian myself. It seems to be very efficient, but occasionally I think it doesn't open and I lose the fish.
