Riffe MT0 Roller?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I'm afraid this won't be very soon: by now Seatec erased the roller from its catalogue and came out with new models which are not roller (the "Tornado": an euro-cannon with 3 circular bands and 30mm barrel with a rail. Impressive). Pity for the roller sea magic: a great idea has been waisted...

Re: eww

eww i think those merlo spearguns are ugly. :yack they look like somebody hacked at them with an axe and got the proportions all wrong. :yack

I think in the same logic, Tyra Banks and Nicole kidman are so ugly too. I would like to grab those ugly guns and ugly girls to a far away island and spare the humanity of them . *at least for a while :inlove

Agreed.

I'm sure those forking out a couple grand for a Merlo gun would disagree with Mr.Squid. :)

As Sven said, it's a bunch of money & several months waiting if you're lucky to get on the list.

I notice Spearo Dave still has them for sale. Check the third post on this thread by Mr X.

Can someone explain to me; the roller part seems to come from the fact the rubber bands are around this metal rod at the front with the washers on the side of it. Does this actually roll or is it just a fixed metal bar that you are pulling the rubbers along ? Also, what are the different ways of attaching the rubber underneath the barrel. I see some still drill a hole through the barrel, some tie the rubbers with dyneema way further down the barrel? Any other options?

And another question, how do you decide what lengths of rubber to use when making a roller gun? I guess this depends on where you attach the rubbers underneath the barrel I presume?
